TEBOW TIME

Ian Rapoport just tweeted that the Jaguars are planning on signing former Broncos starting QB, Tim Tebow. Not as a QB though, as a tight end. I personally, am very excited to see what Tim can do. I was right there along with everyone else Tebowing and rooting for the plucky underdog to succeed in the NFL. Tim's road back to the NFL hasn't been easy. After the Broncos signed Peyton Manning, Tebow was dealt to the Jets. He was hardly utilized in New York, couldn't beat out incumbent QB, Mark Sanchez and was cut after just one season. He then signed with the New England Patriots in 2013 and looked abysmal in the preseason, which lead him to him being cut again. He then signed with the Eagles but couldn't beat out Matt Barkley to be the 3rd string QB on the team and was again cut.
From there, Tim split his time between broadcasting for ESPN and pursuing a career in baseball. Tim signed with the New York Mets organization but couldn't find his way up to the big leagues. There was certainly talk of a call up (mostly from the media) and I expected it to happen when they expand the rosters in September. However, the call up never came. Tim was with the Mets organization for 5 seasons and had his best year for the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, the AA team for the Mets in 2018. After not playing last year because of the pandemic, Tim announced his retirement from baseball on February 27th, 2021.
On April 29th, Ian Rapoport revealed that Tebow worked out for the Jacksonville Jaguars, his home town team that's now coached by his college coach, Urban Meyer.
Today though, Rapoport announced that the Jags are expected to sign Tebow as a tight end. Tebow won a Heisman under Meyer as a QB and now he'll have the chance to catch passes on a team coached by him.
I'm excited about it! Tim Tebow is about to be back in the NFL and could see regular season action for the first time in NINE YEARS. Think about that! The last time Tebow played in the NFL, everyone was listening to Carly Rae Jepson and still being hyped from The Avengers. As I said, I was one of the bro's Tebowing. When I was in grade 10/11 my friend and I got into so much trouble from doing it haha. That and planking, something else that needs to come back.
Will he make the team? Hopefully, man. He brings an electricity to the league. I think he can do that even if he's catching a few passes a game from Trevor Lawrence. Just not against my Bills when they square off next season. No matter what happens it'll be interesting to see how everything unravels with him over the next several months.
